Brimming with character and comfort, Cobblestones is tucked away in a secluded courtyard in the heart of Southwold.

An impressive Gothic style cottage in a quiet nook of Southwold just a few steps from the High Street, Cobblestones is an extraordinary holiday home. Its exterior character is mirrored throughout with bespoke furniture including hand crafted cabinets, kitchen units and dressers.

The front porch leads straight to the sitting room, an inviting and sophisticated space that beautifully combines contemporary style and the historic features of the home. There’s a large fireplace with wood-burning stove to warm the toes on chilly evenings. The kitchen/diner with farmhouse table and chairs is beautiful and well equipped, with double doors out to a small rear courtyard. There’s also a study with comfortable reading chair and a desk for catching up on emails or writing postcards, as well as a downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs the master bedroom is a bright double and there’s three single bedrooms providing space and privacy for all guests. The family bathroom has a bath with hand held shower, whilst the master bedroom as an unusual en suite shower and hand basin. Each room is uniquely and tastefully decorated with every inch of space cleverly used to create maximum storage, practicality and comfort.

Outside there’s a picket-fenced front courtyard that offers a peaceful and private spot to relax. There’s a table and chairs and a BBQ for outdoor dining and a large shed perfect for storing bicycles, golf clubs or beach equipment.

This eccentric and wonderful haven is so full of quirks and features you’ll be spotting things throughout your stay. It’s the kind of house you’ll fall in love with and want to return to time and time again.

Sitting room – Seating for 5 guests, smart TV and DVD, books and games, woodburner. Stairs leading to first floor.
Study – Feature fireplace and reading chair, desk and shelves.
Kitchen/diner – Country style kitchen with electric hob, double electric oven, microwave, fridge with icebox compartment and dishwasher. Dining table and chairs, double doors to small rear courtyard.
Utility area/pantry – Washing machine. Back door to courtyard.
Cloakroom – with WC and small hand basin.

FIRST FLOOR
Bedroom 1 – Double bed, side tables and lamps, period feature fireplace, cupboard with full-length hanging space, en suite shower.
Bedroom 2 – Single bed with small chest of drawers and cupboard with ½ length clothes hanging space.
Bedroom 3 – Single bed with dressing table and stool, cupboard with ½ length clothes hanging space
Bedroom 4 – Single bed with chest of drawers and clothes hanging rail.
Bathroom – Bath with hand-held shower, WC and sink.

OUTSIDE
Front courtyard garden with dining table and chairs. Large shed suitable for bike storage. Small rear courtyard.

There is no parking at the property but guests are permitted to drive up to the property upon arrival/departure to drop off/load luggage.

Cobblestones is a lovely character cottage with a lot of interesting features. Its location is excellent, right in the heart of Southwold. The cottage was well equipped and we found everything we needed for the stay.

What a lovely find! Cobblestones was the perfect retreat for a few days away with my parents and our little 10 month old baby. It felt like a home from home, really clean, comfy beds and just cosy. The location makes this place amazing, so close to the high street and the sea but yet still so quiet! The gothic features are really lovely. We had a great time watching the seagulls and their babies on the roof and enjoyed the walks but the sea in the evening! Would highly recommend this place to stay for a perfect seaside retreat.

A gorgeous stay with friends, ideal amenities and provisions such thoughtful little touches that puts Cobblestones ahead of other places, gorgeous to swim in the sea, gorgeous to potter and benefit from the delicious nearby eateries and gorgeous to relax in front of the fire watching a DVD. So beautifully picturesque and home from home. Thank you for such a special stay, the beds are so comfy.

We have had the most lovely week in the cottage. Like a fairytale. So convenient and comfortable - we especially appreciated the shower in the cupboard. Close enough to keep an eye on the 'Little Fish & Chip shop' queue, and close enough to the Lord Nelson & beach. One of the most quaint places we have stayed and would love to come again.

Beautiful garden, quiet location

I booked Cobblestones for myself and 3 other people. The layout with the additional study area gave us privacy, and at no time, despite it being a compact cottage did we feel overcrowded. The tucked away location plus the beautiful garden, meant that a restful week was enjoyed by everyone.

Very well appointed and beautifully clean cottage within easy walking distance of the town and the sea front in an extremely quiet location. The cottage felt very homely, with very comfy beds and everything we needed for a girls' weekend! Would absolutely recommend.

Its been a wonderful to have a week in Cobblestones! I'm a Southwold girl and Cobblestones used to be my mothers cottage. You have made wonderful alterations, we love the windows and the doors and everything is such good quality. We come every year and Southwold never disappoints.
