Australis

Australis, formerly Ataraxia is a real home-from-home. Just a 10-minute stroll from Southwold High Street, a pleasant walk to Southwold Pier and with local independent grocery store Bridgefoot Stores at the end of the road, Australis enjoys a wonderful location. The cottage offers perfect self-catering accommodation for a couple looking to explore the Suffolk Coast or a small family in search of a welcoming base for their holiday or short break.

The original sitting room and dining room have been knocked through to create one large, but inviting living space. The lounge area has a comfortable sofa, character brick fireplace, smart TV and plenty of books and games to keep you entertained, while the dining area is blessed with a wonderful wood burner, ideal for cosy winter evenings. The kitchen is small but well equipped with appliances including a range style cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, a double to the front of the cottage and a small double overlooking the rear courtyard. The shower room is spacious with an enclosed shower cubicle with electric shower, WC and basin.

Outside there are front and rear courtyards. The rear courtyard has table and chairs and is a pleasant and peaceful nook in which to enjoy morning coffee and afternoon siesta or an evening meal.

Australis has been a popular holiday cottage for a long time. It was formerly named Ataraxia.

Front door leads to small entrance hall, stairs and;

Sitting/Dining Room – sofa, coffee table, Smart TV, feature fireplace, dining table, woodburner.

Kitchen – electric range cooker with double oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, under counter fridge with ice box, coffee machine, washing machine, back door to courtyard garden.

Upstairs

Bedroom One – double bed, cupboard, beside lamps, drawers, feature fireplace.

Bedroom Two – small double bed, bedside table, cupboards.

Shower room – steps down into large shower room with electric shower, WC and basin.

NEED TO KNOW

Bed linen and towels are provided.

Travel cot, high chair and stair gates available.

There are three steps down into the shower room.

The stairs at Australis Cottage are very steep and not suitable for those with mobility issues.

There is no private parking at Australis Cottage but roadside parking is available. Guests are requested to park opposite the cottage where possible.
