Our Top 5 Reasons to Choose a Staycation

Whether it’s a break from work, the stresses of everyday living or quite simply a need to reconnect with loved ones, staycations are becoming a more popular way of holidaying. It can be a difficult choice when deciding whether to take a holiday abroad or a staycation closer to home.

Being a Southwold holiday cottage agent we are a little biased in that we think a staycation is the perfect way to holiday no matter who you decide to go on holiday with, so we’ve listed below our top 5 reasons to choose a staycation over a holiday across the shores.

1) A weekend getaway

If you’ve had a hectic week sometimes it’s fun to be spontaneous and with a staycation you can do just that! Many of our Southwold and surrounding area holiday cottages accept short break stays meaning you can simply pack up the essentials, collect the kids from school and hop in the car to your holiday cottage weekend stay.

2) Less travel, more fun

You won’t lose a day of your holiday travelling to your chosen destination which can encroach on the time you spend sightseeing and exploring. Less travel = more holiday fun!

3) You can bring all the family

We believe that all the family are important and with a staycation you can be sure that no one misses out on the fun. Many of our holiday cottages are pet-friendly with little extras to make your four-legged friend feel at home in their new environment. Looking for accommodation to include the extended family too? Just take a look at our large holiday cottages to accommodate Grandparents, cousins and more.

4) Support Local

Booking a staycation means you support local businesses which is hugely important at this particular point in time. Whether it’s a quick stop at a local coffee shop, an evening meal surrounded by your loved ones or a token souvenir to take home to friends, local businesses will be thankful for your support no matter how small.

5) Feel at home

You don’t have to jam-pack your staycation with days out and about. We think it’s nice to be able to have the option of relaxing in the comfort of your holiday cottage, completely undisturbed. Many of our guests use the last day of their holiday to unwind with a good read and make a home-cooked meal at their leisure before packing up to set off home.

So if we swayed you into thinking you’d like to choose a staycation for your next holiday why not give our friendly team a call on 01502 723292 or browse all our holiday cottages on our website? We have a great choice of cottages suitable for all types of holiday groups, plus our large collection of beach huts make the perfect Southwold holiday cottage accessory.
