Unique and luxurious Southwold holiday cottage just a stone's throw from Southwold's bustling High Street and glorious Common

Full Description

Tookey is a unique holiday cottage situated on the edge of Southwold’s bustling High Street. This beautifully finished and modernised detached cottage is a former Baptist Chapel dating back to the 1900s and in more recent years an antiques shop. Now completely transformed, the cottage provides guests a luxury self-catering base perfect for exploring Southwold in depth.

This spacious cottage has a large open plan room with sitting room, dining area and a beautifully presented kitchen, yet still retains a homely feel. Large windows and bi-fold doors flood the cottage with plenty of natural light. Bi-fold doors open out onto a small paved garden with bistro-style seating for enjoying a morning cup of coffee while the sun beams down upon you. There is also a handy shower room on the ground floor.

Upstairs there are two cosy bedrooms with clever built-in storage. The master suite boasts a Juliet balcony and a cleverly created En-Suite in the eaves with shower cubicle and bath.

Tookey is a fabulous holiday choice for couples holidaying together or young families. Just around the corner you’ll find the High Street packed with wonderful boutiques, gift shops, bakeries, restaurants and coffee shops. The sandy beach with colourful beach huts is a pleasant walk away and the local catch of the day can be found along the Harbour which is around a 15 minute walk away – there really is no need to use the car on your Southwold adventure, simply park in the allocated parking space and enjoy exploring the essence of Southwold on foot.

What we love about this property
There are plenty of luxury touches throughout the property but we adore the Juliet balcony off the master bedroom. Pull up a chair and enjoy a glass of something special after a busy day exploring.

In contrast to the condition and facilities of a property we rented through another agency last year we were delighted with Tookey. The owners clearly enjoy their property and ensured that we did also with an ample provision of equipment and high standard of cleanliness etc. Thank you
Tookey was very well equipped and a ‘home from home’. We loved everything about the house - even after banging my head on low ceiling in the bedroom! - and its location with a dedicated parking space. Couldn’t find a fault at all and would be happy to book it again without hesitation when returning to Southwold.
Great location. Good size rooms. Well equipped. Comfortable beds. Overall fully satisfied.
We were very impressed with the design and layout of this conversion, having previously visited it when it was a second hand shop. The decor is of a high standard and the fittings and furniture all high quality making this a very comfortable place to stay, like a home from home. We’ve stayed in many places in Southwold over the years & very few we would return to but would definitely stay here again. Extremely friendly staff, booking was simple, communication great, couldn’t be easier, thanks.
Tookey is a very comfortable and easy place to settle into. Ideally located to the lovely seaside town of Southwold. Overall the decor and cleanliness of Tookey is great. Thank you all at Durrants.
