Spacious, homely and well-appointed, St Elmo offers ideal accommodation for fun-filled family holidays by the sea.

Full Description

St Elmo is a traditional semi-detached dog-friendly home situated on North Road, a quiet street on the outskirts of Southwold and just a short walk to the Pier, Common and High Street. Its cool, blue façade veils a warm and inviting holiday home, brimming with all the comforts and practicalities needed for a wonderful family seaside holiday.

Downstairs there’s plenty of room up to 6 guests. The sitting room, with its brick fireplace and woodburning stove, is a cosy snug for the evenings, whilst the light-filled diner/lounge with double doors to the garden is a real social space. The kitchen is very well-equipped with plenty of space for your self-catering provisions, making holiday food preparation and laundry effortless. There’s also a downstairs WC.

Three generous bedrooms and the family bathroom can be found upstairs. The master bedroom, with views over the back garden, has plenty of built in storage and a dresser, whilst the front bedroom is ideal for children, having three single beds – just imagine the excitement, whispers and giggling on the first night of your holiday! The third bedroom is a single. (All the single beds are standard size so are suitable for adults too.) The family bathroom is bright, white and has a shower over the bath.

To the back of the house there is a mature and fully enclosed garden offering a delightful patio with dining table and chairs. Steps up from the patio lead to the lawn. There is side access to the garden, which is useful when returning from the beach with sandy buckets and spades.

The house felt very homely and warm. Everything we needed was provided and the whole place was spotless. The location was great as we could walk everywhere and we found parking very easy (it was Easter, maybe it gets busier in the summer!) the welcome gifts were an lovely gesture.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the charming holiday cottage at North Road, Southwold, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated, blending modern comforts with classic coastal charm. The attention to detail is evident in every room, from the cosy living area to the well-equipped kitchen. The location is simply unbeatable – just a short walk to the stunning Southwold beach and the vibrant town centre. It was the perfect base for exploring the area, while still providing a peaceful retreat to relax and unwind. The outdoor space was a real bonus, with a lovely garden. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and thought of everything to make our stay memorable, from providing a comprehensive guide to the local area to ensuring we had all the essentials.

Lovely cottage, a real home from home. All linens were provided. Very quiet location. All of southwold within easy reach. Garden furniture was an added bonus in a very private garden
Beautiful place in an excellent location

Great house with lovely garden and in great location. Weather was perfect too so what more could we ask for.

Wonderful holiday let! We especially enjoyed the fireplace. Really impressed with the location and the house was lovely. We would definitely stay here again!
