Pick Your Own Pumpkins at Southwold Maize Maze
When: 18 October – 1 November
Southwold Maize Maze is excited to announce the return of its pumpkin patch this half term! Head to Reydon for your choice of pumpkin – great photo opportunities await. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, entry is free. Please note the patch is closed on 20 and 21 October in-line with the cafe opening hours.
Spooky Crafts at RSPB Minsmere
When: Saturday 25 October
Head to the Discovery Centre for a range of Halloween-themed crafts for everyone. The craft activities will be running from 10am -12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3pm. The craft activities are free but normal entry fee applies.
Red Deer Safari at RSPB Minsmere
When: Saturday 25 October
The annual red deer rut is one of the most remarkable natural events you can witness in the UK. Join the RSPB Minsmere experts as they lead you to the rutting fields in a 4×4 vehicle, allowing you to be close to the action. These safaris offer outstanding opportunities for photography. Ticket prices accommodate up to four individuals per vehicle and include entry fees, along with a complimentary hot beverage in the cafe prior to the safari for all participants.
Breakfast Club with Live Jazz
When: Sunday 26 October
Begin your Sunday morning with the enchanting melodies of a jazz band at Snape Maltings. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while partaking in the highly anticipated new breakfast menu on offer, as well as a selection of cocktails and mocktails.
Little Ranger Witch Walk at Dunwich Heath
When: Sunday 26 October
Bring your small adventurers to Dunwich Heath for a delightful Halloween-themed guided walk led by an experienced ranger. Explore fascinating bugs, birds, and other wildlife that inhabit the heath and woodland. Fancy dress is encouraged, and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Science Activity Week at Southwold Arts Centre
When: 27 – 31 October
This October Half Term, the Southwold Arts Centre is hosting an exciting array of science-themed activities, featuring topics such as sound, stage lighting, electricity, planets, and various scientific experiments. Dried Flower Pumpkin Craft at Bloom, Southwold
When: Monday 27 October
Visit Bloom in Southwold this October half term to create a charming, dried flower pumpkin using locally sourced flowers and pumpkins. This engaging craft activity is designed for participants of all ages, please note younger crafters will need adult supervision.
The Red House Guided Tours
When: Wednesday 29 October
Book an exclusive tour of The Red House on a day when the site is not open to the public. Lasting approximately 90 minutes, you will be escorted through the residence, studio, and library of Britten and Pears; in addition, you will have the opportunity to visit the Archive, where you can view the treasures of the collection.
Family Activity Session at High Lodge
When: Thursday 30 October
If you’re seeking a new family activity, consider the High Lodge Family Activity Sessions, which promise enjoyment for everyone. Children aged seven and older can participate in archery and air rifle shooting, while those ten and above can try their hand at clay pigeon shooting. Sunset Stroll at RSPB Minsmere
Experience RSPB Minsmere during the most picturesque time of day as the sun descends over the reeds. Anticipate witnessing Starlings congregate in their remarkable swirling formations, or perhaps a dozen Marsh Harriers settling in the reeds. As night falls, take on the role of detective and utilise technology in identifying Minsmere’s nocturnal inhabitants. Please bring a torch. All ticket prices include the reserve entry fees and a hot beverage at the cafe following the walk.
Clay Pumpkin Workshop at Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve
When: Friday 31 October
This delightful and informal workshop is led by local ceramic artist Margaret Parsons where you will have the opportunity to sculpt a clay pumpkin. This workshop is suitable for both adults and children aged 8 years and above. Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult. The session will feature a lunch break, and all necessary materials will be supplied. Your crafted piece will need to be taken away for bisque firing, and it can be collected from the visitor centre approximately two weeks later.
Halloween Extravaganza at Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve
When: Saturday 1 November
Visit Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve for an enchanting evening filled with campfires, bat watching, and stargazing. Engage in a variety of nighttime activities, such as torchlight bug hunting and bat detection, all while enjoying the warmth of the campfire and optional s’mores. This event is suitable for children aged three and older, promising a memorable experience for families.
Snape Maltings Farmers’ Market
