5 Reasons to Let Your Holiday Home with Durrants Holiday Cottages

Short term holiday lets are a great way to be able to use your property occasionally yourself whilst also generating some extra income. Holiday letting is particularly popular on the Suffolk Coast which has some highly desirable destinations to explore, including the stunning seaside town of Southwold.

It’s true – as Southwold’s original holiday letting agency, we may be a little biased, but we couldn’t think of a more perfect place to own a holiday home than Southwold itself.

So whether you’ve been holidaying in Southwold for a number of years and fancy owning a cottage here yourself, are unfamiliar with the area and are looking for a good return on a holiday home investment, or perhaps already own a holiday home here and would like to know more about our services – here are five reasons why we are the ideal Southwold holiday cottage agency for you.

We Are A Trusted Name

Originally known as HA Adnams, Durrants Holiday Cottages have been letting holiday cottages for many years. Since 2012 we have occupied a large office right on Southwold’s bustling high street, and we pride ourselves on our traditional values and excellent customer service. Our homeowners trust us, and we have represented many of our Suffolk coastal holiday cottages within our portfolio for more than a decade.

We Are The Local People

Unlike other holiday letting agencies, we are truly local people working for a well-known Southwold brand. Our homeowners know our team members by name, and we pride ourselves on our extensive knowledge of the local area. Some of us volunteer and work for local organisations and projects, so we have first-hand knowledge of what’s happening in Southwold and the surrounding area. What’s more, we are well-connected with local tradespeople and businesses, so we can offer a range of managed services tailored to your holiday cottage requirements should you need them – from gardeners to window cleaners and recommending housekeepers.

We Deliver The Personal Approach

Being a small, local team, we are proud of the personal service we can offer our holidaymakers and homeowners alike.

All our team members know our holiday cottages inside out and visit them regularly (in fact most of our cottages are within walking distance of our office), so if a holidaymaker has a unique holiday request or a quick visit to a property is required (I.e. for meter readings) we are more than happy to assist.

We receive regular positive feedback from our holidaymakers and homeowners on our personal service, which is often lacking from other, bigger holiday cottage agencies.

We Know The Market

With estate agency being a key part of our business, we have direct knowledge of the property market. We work closely with our estate agency team on market trends and properties that are coming up for sale and we provide detailed holiday letting appraisals for properties that would make desirable holiday homes.

We Offer A Bespoke Marketing Service

As we represent a small collection of holiday cottages and beach huts on the Suffolk Coast, your holiday cottage will get the best opportunity of being marketed by various channels including our trusted online travel agents, regular features in bespoke email campaigns, and in social media posts on our various platforms to name a few. We do not charge a fee for taking photographs of your cottage and we update photography regularly.
