Southwold
The Electric Picture Palace
Tucked away in central Southwold, The Electric Picture Palace is a tiny 70-seat independent cinema. Designed to celebrate the joy of the cinema-going experience, the Picture Palace visit comes complete with an introductory ‘B’ film, usherettes, a “Tiny Wurlitzer” organ rising up from the stage during the interval, and The National Anthem plated at the end.
Snape
Snape Maltings
Nestled along the banks of the River Alde, Snape Maltings is a picturesque heritage destination just six miles from the seaside town of Aldeburgh. Snape Maltings offers a variety of independent shops, art galleries, a restaurant, a dog-friendly café, and several performance venues, including the renowned concert hall established by composer Benjamin Britten. Aldeburgh
The Red House
The Red House, a Grade II listed farmhouse owned by composers Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears, provides a unique glimpse into their lives. Visitors can take a guided tour, admire the impressive art collection, explore the library’s books and music, or listen to an audio guide. On-site there is also a small café as well as a shop offering Britten and Pears-inspired products.
Southwold
Southwold Arts Centre
St Edmund’s Hall has stood at the heart of Southwold’s community life for seventy years. The Arts Centre hosts a full programme including theatre, live music, comedy and annual festivals.
Lowestoft
East Point Pavilion
This quirky Victoriana-style glass pavilion sits on Lowestoft seafront. Enjoy a year-round schedule of live music, DJs and performances, alongside a varied calendar of pop-up makers and producers events as well as creative community and seasonal activities.
Halesworth
The Cut
The Cut Arts Centre is set in the shell of a late 19th Century New Cut Maltings building. It hosts a year round programme of theatre, live music, cinema, art exhibitions and creative workshops so there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
Lowestoft
Marina Theatre
Originally opened in the Victorian era, this 630 seat theatre sits just of Lowestoft’s High Street. A hub of live theatre, music and comedy all year round, including traditional Christmas pantomimes and one of workshops and classes.
Beccles
Beccles Public Hall
Beccles Public Hall and Theatre is run by the community and runs a year round programme of cinema, music, theatre and panto. Located in the centre of the town, the hall also hosts lectures, exhibitions and pop up markets.
