The Southwold Sausage Walk 2025

Each year thousands of owners and their sausage dogs descend to Southwold’s blue flag sandy beach and take part in a walk to raise money for Dedicated to Dachshunds, a charity which arranges special equipment for dachshunds with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD).

We’re so excited to be able to offer our collection of dog-friendly holiday cottages to participants of the Sausage Walk, so if you’re looking to stay in Southwold for the Sausage Walk weekend or discover how doggy-friendly Southwold is at alternative times of the year, make sure you give one of our dog-crazy team members Tracy, Sally, Lisa or Paula a call on 01502 723292 and they’ll be happy to find your perfect dog-friendly accommodation.

The walk starts at Southwold’s Harbour and finishes at the iconic Pier, so for little paws it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and be part of a dachshund community!

The Southwold Sausage Walk was created by organiser Laura Baggott in 2017 where 150 dogs attended the walk. The walk quickly gained in popularity, seeing both local and overseas attendees joining in the walk. In 2022, a staggering 2,238 sausage dogs took part in the Sausage Walk and broke an unofficial world record for the world’s largest ever gathering of a single breed of dogs!
