There are countless ways to celebrate the spooky season on the Suffolk Coast this October Half Term. Whether you’re a diehard horror fan or a crafty costume enthusiast, the region offers an array of action-packed, ghoulishly fun activities and events for all ages. From thrilling ghostly trails to pumpkin picking with a terrifying twist, the Suffolk Coast has something to delight every type of Halloween reveller this year. Southwold Maize Maze ‘Scaretacular’ – 25 October – 2 November 2024

Visit Southwold Maize Maze this half term for their annual ‘Scaretacular’ event including the play park facilities, trick or treat trail, haunted house, Ghoulish Go-Kart track and so much more! Head over to the Spooky Big Barn for indoor Halloween fun including indoor pumpkin bowling! Face painting is available at an extra cost.

Ghost Tales at Framlingham Castle – 26, 27 & 31 October 2024

Join the spooky storytellers at Framlingham Castle this Halloween and journey through tales of ghosts, supernatural sightings and horror stories of history! This event is for 16 years old and over and don’t forget to bring a torch for the dark…

Twilight Night Halloween Extravaganza at Carlton Marshes – 26 & 27 October 2024

Discover the enchanting world of nocturnal nature at Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve. Engage in captivating activities like lantern-making, campfires, stargazing, moth trapping, and owl pellet dissection. This wonderful family-friendly event promises an evening of exploration and wonder. Please bring a jam jar with you to make your lantern.

Boo at the Zoo at Africa Alive Zoological Reserve – 26 – 28 October 2024

Africa Alive Zoological Reserve in Kessingland is hosting its “Boo at the Zoo” three-day event this October half term. Packed with family-friendly activities, visitors can enjoy a spooky train ride, bug handling, crafts, a fancy-dress parade, foam party, magic shows and so much more! Tickets are available to book online.

Halloween Crafts in the Barn at Dunwich Heath – 28 & 30 October, 3 November 2024

Visit the National Trusts Dunwich Heath this half term and have a go at a Halloween craft or two. Make a bat, pumpkin or ghost craft to take home.

Spooky Sounds at The Red House – 31 October & 1 November 2024

This October half-term, visit The Red House to hear thrilling Suffolk ghost stories and discover how to make them even more chilling with haunting musical effects.

Families can create their own sound effect kits to bring spooky stories to life at home. Plus, kids can complete a sound effect trail through The Red House garden for a chance to win a spooky prize.

Botanical Pumpkin Workshop at Southwold Flower Company – Various dates throughout the half term week

This is a wonderful floral pumpkin decorating workshop hosted by the Southwold Flower Company where you can choose your pumpkin and decide on your flower colour theme and get decorating! The workshop is open to children, but the process can be fiddly, so it’s recommended for ages 7 and over with parental guidance. Workshops cannot be booked online so please give them a call 07484 619 707 to book your workshop. Please note this workshop doesn’t run on Sundays.
