Summer Holidays

It’s no secret that the most popular time of year to visit Southwold is the summer. With bright blue skies all day long to warm evenings surrounded by family and friends, it’s easy to see how the lure of Southwold in summer is hard to avoid.

We have a great selection of holiday cottages across Southwold and the surrounding area ideal for your summer staycation. Whether you are coming on holiday with all the family or maybe just a week away with a loved one, we’re sure to have the right cottage for you. From dog-friendly townhouses to cosy apartments directly overlooking the sea, let us find the right summer holiday cottage for your perfect break.

What better way to spend your summer holiday than building sandcastles with the little ones on the golden beach with the backdrop of Southwold’s iconic candy-coloured beach huts (you can even hire your own)? Buckets and spades, colourful foil windmills spinning in the gentle breeze and classic British ice creams are all readily on hand for your adventure on the beach.

The High Street itself is a buzzing atmosphere during the summer with fashion boutiques brimming with all the essential summerwear you need and iced coffees available in nearly every coffee shop you pass.

Take a walk to Southwold’s Harbour with your crabbing lines and buckets. Find the perfect spot on the waters edge or the bridges and see how many crabs you can catch – it’s the perfect activity to try with children. Afterwards why not sample some of the tastiest fish ‘n’ chips in town at Mrs T’s or the Sole Bay Fish Company?

Take the foot ferry across to Walberswick, another picture postcard Suffolk destination and immerse yourself in unspoiled wildlife and rambling. There are two further pubs to visit which serve an impressive selection of Adnams ales and fantastic food. If a lighter bite is preferrable, there are some fabulous tea rooms including the Tea Shed and the Parish Lantern.
