Ensuring we are ready to welcome you back to Southwold

At Durrants Holiday Cottages we have been very busy following the latest Government guidance and collating information from Public Health England to ensure that when you stay with us you are kept as safe as possible.

We want you to have peace of mind when holidaying with us. Whilst we cannot guarantee that properties are coronavirus free, all our properties will be cleaned to a very high standard and will be lower in risk than visiting a supermarket for example. We have issued brand new cleaning guidelines to our housekeepers and cottage owners to help reduce any risks to you when staying at one of our holiday cottages.

New guidance includes additional time for housekeepers to undertake cleans which therefore means your arrival and departure times have been adjusted slightly to allow the additional time for cleaning. These are now from 4.30pm on the start date of your holiday and departing by 9.30am on your departure date and we thank you for your understanding with this.

Extra cleaning supplies will be available to you to use within the cottage such as hand sanitiser and dis-infectant. We recommend bringing further supplies with you when going out and about.

We have also removed any non-essential items within our cottages which frequently come into contact with guests such as board games, books and decorative items, and you may wish to bring your own from home to enhance your stay.

What else do you need to know?

Once your holiday has been paid in full, we’ll send you some handy guidelines on how you can help lower risks of transmission of Covid-19 when on holiday. Don’t panic – there’s nothing within our guidelines to worry about as many of the suggestions we are making you will have already been practising at home.

We will also be including a handy Southwold visitors guide on new practices in place within the town which we hope you will find useful.

Please do remember to bring a face covering with you as from 24th July 2020 face coverings are mandatory when visiting shops. If you need to purchase one when on holiday with us we have seen face masks for sale in Sea Salt, High Tide and both our High Street chemists however please be aware stock may be limited due to demand. If you need any assistance at all just give our team a call on 01502 723292 who will be delighted to assist you.

As always we are continuing to monitor all Government advice regarding the pandemic to ensure that we can keep our staff, holidaymakers, housekeepers and cottage owners as safe as possible.

In the meantime we can’t wait to welcome you back to Southwold!
